Hancock Center Welcomes Heather Edge, MSSW, LCSW to its ranks of providers  

Heather is a clinical social worker who provides individual, group and family therapy to assess, diagnose, treat, and prevent mental illness, as well as emotional and behavioral disturbances. Heather's down to earth, compassionate and honest nature will make you feel supported and comfortable in the therapeutic process. She conveys an empathic approach and kind sense of humor as she creates a safe space that allows clients to develop their authentic self. Heather brings a playful spirit to her work which is complimented by her training and numerous years of experience.

Heather is passionate about helping adults, children and families heal from past trauma and find success in building healthy relationships. She works with a wide range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, relationship connection and parenting concerns. She has worked extensively with foster youth, families, and children who have been adopted. Heather seeks to find ways to help people build and maintain fulfilling connection and strong relationships.

Heather uses a holistic approach that attends to individual psychological, emotional, social, physical and spiritual needs. This allows growth and change to happen for clients in an accepting and collaborative environment. Her years teaching as a professor compliment her therapeutic approach of teaching client’s strategies and skills to advance their feelings of joy and success in life. Heather believes that every person should have the opportunity to reach their full potential and engage in desired change.
