Therapy aides are needed to work with children with special needs in dance/movement therapy sessions. Work one-on-one with a therapist in weekly groups. We also have volunteer opportunities available working as an aide in Violence Prevention Through Movement classes in elementary schools of the Madison school district. Approximate time commitment is 2-3 hours per week. Time of sessions vary. Experience with children, comfort level with movement, and therapeutic experience or background desired for child and family program.
There is currently opportunty to assist in a group for adults with developmental delays. This is a weekly volunteer commitment.

Volunteers will help in the office with general administrative duties including reception, mailings, word processing, database entry, photocopying, etc. Dance therapists often need help with wait list information, paper work, and filing. This is a great position to find out more about Hancock Center and dance/movement therapy and to gain experience in an office setting. This could be a regular or "on-call" position. Office and computer experience desired.
Current needs: on-call as needed.

Hancock Center is in a Victorian building that is over 100 years old. It is always in need of some repair and interior painting. We would be grateful to find someone that could help us with various building projects as they arise. In the summer we would also benefit from landscaping in our front and backyard. This could be an on-going or "on-call" position.
Current needs: exterior house painting, landscaping and/or general maintenance experience.
