Business Manager

General Position Description:

This position is responsible for the overall business and financial administration of the Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy; including but not limited to monthly accounting reconciliation, bank records and reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll preparation, monthly reporting of various financial reports, annual budget preparation and annual audit preparation. May include various office related administrative duties, but these would not be a significant part of the position; they may include light telephone answering, filing and some office organization.

Reports to the Executive Director and may be called upon to provide administrative support as needed. It is considered a part time position between 20-25 hours per week. Schedule to be determined, but must be consistent weekday (preferably 5 days per week) hours between 9am-5pm. Occasional evening hours may be needed at quarterly Finance Committee Meetings and / or Board of Directors Meetings. Pay Range is between $15.75 - $22.75 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • Accounting and business administration aptitude and skills
  • Working knowledge of GAAP standards for annual CPA audit and tax return preparation
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Organized and Detail Oriented
  • Adherence of privacy and confidentiality policies as required

Required Education and / or Experience:

  • Related Degree or minimum of 3-5 years of related experience required.

Preferred Candidates will demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Monthly accounting reconciliation including bank records and reconciliation
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Payroll preparation
  • Annual budget preparation
  • Annual audit preparation

Additional Preferred Experience includes non-profit accounting finance management; working within the mental health, counseling or social service fields; and grant preparation and/or reconciliation.
